I'm thrilled to play host to the next History Carnival which will appear here on Thursday, December 1. This should be a fun job. I love history and eat this stuff up. If you are interested in submitting one of your recent blog entries (or someone else's) then please note:
- I am not an academic (alas!) so academic subjects and terms may require a bit of explanation.
- I am not particularly well versed in internet lingo so ditto.
- Original scholarship is preferred over a collection of links.
- Controversy is one thing -- disrespect another.
- Entries posted since the last carnival on Nov. 15 are preferred over older posts but this is not a hard and fast rule.
- Send your entries to Laura4991 (at) prodigy.net and please be sure to put History Carnival in the reference line.
- Include the title of your blog and the name/url of your nominated post.
- If you're not quite sure whether a particular entry is suitable you might want to consult the guidelines at the History Carnival home page.
- A good carnival has about 30 to 40 posts. I hope to see a variety of fascinating essays as I put this together. If I don't get enough nominations and am forced to rely on my own historical tastes then there is a high probability that the 21st Carnival will be a blood-soaked murder-through-the-ages extravaganza. Fair warning!
