I haven't posted anything new in a while -- only because I've been distracted by Indian Summer, a spouse with the flu, advanced pregnancy (I'm 7 months along -- ugh), maple leaves two feet deep on the lawn, and on a brighter note by a wonderfully written historical true crime story called A Tale of Two Murders (more on that later). Meanwhile I've been flooded with emails to the point that it's nearly impossible to keep up!
Starting last week Clews had a sudden and remarkable increase in "hits." I suspect that someone at Google read the site and deemed it worthy of some mysterious designation, because Clews now enjoys enviable Google rankings. It has something to do with algorithms and other impenetrables and in any event I now enjoy hundreds of visits every single day -- and lots of new correspondents with interesting things to say.
If you've inquired about my health or whereabouts -- see above.
If you've suggested a topic -- I'll probably write about it soon; if it's not something appropriate for Clews then I'll pass it along to another crime blogger who might take it up.
If you've written an historical true crime book and would appreciate a mention -- well I would love to be able to buy everything that comes out but alas I am on an austerity program. If you are willing to share an advanced reading copy or promotional copy I would be happy to review it and post a positive review on my blog. (Negative reviews would be strictly private but I have yet to find an historical crime story I didn't like.)
If you're looking for new stories -- I've plenty in various stages and promise to keep things interesting.
As always I appreciate your visits, your comments, your notes, and your patience.
