I'm making the turkey dinner for the James Gang this year so I'm in the kitchen for the rest of the week.
So I hear it told that the French are jealous of our special little November harvest festival. In France they are dedicated to good food in a way that Americans can never ever appreciate. I can attest to this having spent a week there a few years ago; if you've been then you know it's true and if you haven't well put it on your list of things to do -- you can't go wrong with Chicken Riesling and a big plate of spaetzle.
So anyway it seems that the chefs of France are quite impressed that every American woman over thirty knows how to stuff and roast a very large game bird and prepare an elaborate meal with a specific traditional menu. Come to think of it we do outdo ourselves every year.
When I get back I sure hope to have lots of History Carnival nominations waiting for me -- so if you see any really well written blog essays about some interesting aspect of history be sure to let me know.
Send your Carnival nominations to Laura4991 (at) prodigy.net.
Happy Thanksgiving!
