Edgar Lustgarten is the greatest true crime narrator of all time. Here is my tribute and description of his books. But I can only find one tantalizing audio clip of the world's most famous true crime radio announcer. It's a portion of his reading of the Bungalow Murder in Death On The Crumbles.
Lustgarten was parodied in Rocky Horror, and Lustgarten was sampled in a song called "Dead Eyes Opened." It was a 1980's dance track by The Severed Heads and was remixed again in 1994 to create a more contemporary song.
But where is the rest of Lustgarten's body of work? There is this one tantalizing clip on YouTube, one 4-minute story from the master. It makes me want to listen to Lustgarten dictate the entire calendar of crime. But... Where Is He? Many of us have looked for Lustgarten online to no avail. If you know where he is hiding, kindly advise.
